Library

Saint Benedict School Library is A school library media program that is fully integrated into the school’s curriculum  and is central to the learning process. An effective school library media program depends on the collaborative efforts of all those who are responsible for student learning.  As a professional teacher, information specialist and instructional consultant, our librarian collaborates with classroom teachers to deliver and enrich the State of Alabama Curriculum. Services of the library media center include: providing access to an organized collection of information; locating needed information in the school’s collection; teaching information literacy skills; and motivating students to read regularly. The library media program promotes reading for students of all ages through programs which include: Accelerated Reader, The Caldecott Challenge, Newbery Scholars, and Read-Across-America.
