This 2010/2011 school year will be my 17th year teaching kindergarten at SBS.  This is, without a doubt, one of God's most special places, and I am honored to be a part of this family.

I grew up in a suburb of Birmingham, but moved to the Gulf Coast when I was 21.  I have three grown children, all of whom attended SBS as did my husband. I am a member of St Margaret's parish in Foley.  I have a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from The University of South Alabama where I graduated with honors.

Perhaps St. Francis should have been my patron saint because, like him, I love animals.  I often take orphaned animals and raise them until they can be released or just enjoy a visit to the zoo. My family has an extensive collection of pets and we love them all.

I love to teach children to read, but I feel it is just as important to help them experience our wonderful world so I may bring an animal to school or have someone come in to teach them about farming.  I also love to help the children become friends with Our Lord and instill in them a love of learning whether it be about God, reading, or something else altogether.   I just pray for the wisdom and courage to do God's will each day.

Oh and by the way, ROLL TIDE!!!!

My mission is to instill in the children love of God, a love of country, and love of learning.
