Student Expectations for Second Grade *Ability to read at second grade level and progress through various skills and vocabulary. *Ability to add and subtract single digit number facts with increasing speed. *Manuscript handwriting that is clear and legible. *Has awareness of the world events and happenings as they relate to us here at SBS throughout the year. *Will develop the ability to speak in front of a group as a useful tool to become a well-rounded student. *Will work with teacher and classmates using DWP skills to develop good behavior in a school setting, at Mass, and at home. *Will learn the proper behavior for various situations through food choices made at appropriate times. *Attitude and participation at Mass and in daily religion classes will show reverence for God and all life, which he created. *Love of learning, love of life, love for family and classmates will be part of every day practices at Saint Benedict School.
